Syriac Heritage Project Mission
The mission of the Syriac Heritage Project is historical and cultural preservation for our Syriac Heritage. The mission involves preserving and teaching our Syriac Heritage and preserving and teaching the Syriac language and literature.
This new website, videos and other new projects feature extensive content covering various facets of Syriac heritage, organized for ease of navigation and comprehensive understanding. Visitors can delve into detailed sections on:
Syriac Language and Literature: Highlighting the evolution and enduring significance of the Syriac language, along with its vast literary canon, including ancient texts, poetry, and theological works.
Prominent Figures: Profiles of influential Syriac saints, church fathers, missionaries, historians, and scholars who shaped the intellectual and spiritual landscape of their time.
Historical Institutions: Insights into the renowned Syriac monasteries, schools, and libraries that served as centers of learning and cultural dissemination.
Geographical and Communal Richness: Exploration of significant Syriac dioceses, cities, and communities, showcasing the geographical spread and historical depth of the Syriac presence.
The Sayfo (Syriac Genocide): A solemn and crucial section addressing the tragic Syriac Genocide, detailing affected locations and honoring the memory of those who suffered. This section serves as a testament to the resilience of the Syriac people and a call for remembrance and recognition.
Other considerations that we are following to achieve our goals
This educational website and all subsequent educational efforts are tools used to disseminate the knowledge about the Syriac history through the use of social media and educational channels.
The efforts here are not meant to compete with other other efforts that are already existing but to complement them and collaborate on new efforts
This Project is not covering the theologies and Christologies of the different Syriac churches because it’s directed to all Syriac people and it’s focused on their Syriac heritage and contributions to the history of humanity
At this time, Syriac Music and Syriac poetry is not included in this project because we have to admit we only have little knowledge in both fields and many other fields. However, they will be included in the future
