Village of Khazna
About 15 Syriac families lived in this village and most of whom were originally from Zaz. They were prosperous, and had a great deal of property. The leader of the Syriac people in the village was Isa Sowar and the village leader was a kurd by the name of Ibrahim Khalil.
When the Turkish soldiers came to the village, they went to Ibrahim Khalil in order to kill the Syriac people in the village who had been taken to the village leader. Then Ibrahim Khalil called Isa and three other Syriac men to him and immediately the Turkish soldiers grabbed those four men, handcuffed them and handcuffed the rest of the men in the village after that. They also rounded up all the women and children and took them outside the village in order to kill them. Isa's bride, named Khazme, was a very beautiful woman. The wicked men told her: "Confess yourself to Islam, and we will save you." But she said: "I will not become a Muslim. I am disgusted with you and your faith. I am prepared to die for my Lord Christ and to bear pain and suppression." She had to undergo terrible torture, while holding her husband's hand all the time, and he only let go of her when she passed away. Thus they killed all of them, and none was spared.
