Village of Tamars
There were about 20 Syriac families in this village and Kurdish families headed by a person called Muhamed Eylo. When they heard about the massacres and what’s happening in Midun, the Syriac community leaders came together and visited the Kurdish leader of the village, Muhamed, who told them that he will protect them if they stayed in the village but if the Ottoman government puts pressure on him, he won't be able to protect them. However, if they prefer to go to another village, he will accompany them there. Then the Syriac people wanted to be taken to Beth Sbirino and they took anything they could carry, and left the village under the protection of Muhamed and some other Kurds from the village heading to Beth Sbirino. The inhabitants of Tamars stayed in Beth Sbirino until the unrest subsided, and then they returned to their village.
