The Syriac Horizon
We are proud to introduce an official name for this newsletter, The Syriac Horizon. We chose this name because it perfectly encapsulates the dual mission of the Syriac Heritage Project.
A horizon is the point where the earth meets the sky, a boundary that is both a reflection of where we stand and a gateway to what lies ahead. For us, this "horizon" represents the vital connection between our profound past and our collective future. It honors the monumental legacies of figures like the Syriac Fathers, whose works defined the Syriac Church, while simultaneously looking toward the new scholarly frontiers being explored by young researchers today.
